Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how we keep it safe.

01Who we are

This policy explains how Mosupatsela Properties (trading as Mosupatsela Building & Renovations) ("Mosupatsela", "we", "us") collects, uses and protects your personal information when you use this website or contact us about a building or renovation project.

We process personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

02Information we collect

We only collect what we need to respond to you and deliver your project.

  • Quote requests: your name, email address, phone number, preferred contact method, the services you need, property type, approximate size, building or fencing details, timeline, budget range, area or suburb and your project description.
  • Newsletter: your email address and your consent to receive updates.
  • Direct contact: anything you share when you phone, email or visit us.
  • Project information: site addresses, plans, photos, measurements and inspection records created while we work on your property.

We do not ask for special personal information (such as health, religious or biometric information) and ask that you do not send it to us.

03How we use your information

  • to respond to your enquiry and prepare a quotation;
  • to arrange consultations, site inspections and project work;
  • to communicate with you about your project, schedule, invoices and handover;
  • to meet our legal, safety, building-standard and tax obligations;
  • to send project news and updates, only if you have opted in.

We process your information because you asked us to (to take steps towards or perform a contract), because the law requires it, because you consented, or for our legitimate business interests where these do not override your rights.

04Sharing your information

We never sell your personal information. We share it only when needed to deliver your project or meet the law, for example with:

  • sub-contractors and trades (such as electricians or plumbers) working on your project;
  • building inspectors, surveyors, architects or municipal authorities where approvals or inspections are required;
  • service providers that help us run our business, such as email, website hosting or form services;
  • our professional advisers, or authorities when the law requires it.

Everyone we share information with must keep it confidential and secure. If a service provider stores information outside South Africa, we make sure it is protected to a standard similar to POPIA.

05Cookies and third-party services

This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and our fonts are hosted on our own website. Your browser may store small amounts of information to make the site work, such as menu and form settings.

Our Contact page shows an embedded Google Map. Google may set its own cookies when the map loads, under Google's Privacy Policy. If quote requests are sent through an online form service, that provider processes the details you submit on our behalf.

06How long we keep it

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, or as long as the law requires. Project and financial records are generally kept for at least five years for tax and building-warranty purposes. Unsuccessful quote requests are deleted once they are no longer needed.

07How we protect it

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to keep your information safe from loss, misuse and unauthorised access, including limiting access to staff who need it. If we become aware of a security compromise affecting your information, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.

08Your rights

Under POPIA you have the right to:

  • ask whether we hold your personal information and request a copy;
  • ask us to correct, update or delete it;
  • object to us processing it, including for direct marketing;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, for example by unsubscribing from our newsletter;
  • lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.

To use any of these rights, email info@mosupatselaproperties.co.za. We may need to confirm your identity first.

09Information Regulator

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. You may also complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa):
